This was the first time Ihave ever seen a Harlequin. My understanding is that even though they are listed as "endemic" to the southern Australian coast (mainly WA and SA) some belive this fish should be listed as endangered because it tends to remain in a specific location and fisherman are not descriminating when they take them. Certainly after a year and a half of diving, the fact that I have never seen one, let alone filmed it, suggests to me they are not common. Of course, Ihaven't been everywhere and others may have a different opinion.
