An adult flounder has two eyes situated on one side of its head, while at hatching one eye is located on each side. One eye migrates to the other side as the fish grows from larval to juvenile stage. Based on the position of the eyes, flounders can be divided in: righteye and lefteye flounders. They camouflages themselves by lying on the bottom of the ocean floor as a protection against predators
