Diving into Minimal: Ocean Movie Posters

Less is more. Minimalist posters are all about economy: the trick is to encapsulate a film in a simple, smart and clean way. Designers take the most memorable storylines and visual elements from the films, thus creating a graphic representation that consist only of colors and shapes to form iconic structures and symbols. 

You might have seen the following movies. We put together a quick roundup of some movie poster re-boots below. The illustrations provide a visual relation audience had experienced while watching the films. You may also be surprised with what elements they choose to portray the movies, making you view the movies from a different perspective.

This series leaves out text altogether, allowing meaningful objects from the films’ narratives do the identification work. Can you name these?
