About SS Yongala
What to Expect When Diving in SS Yongala
"Incredible dive with a sad and mysterious story behind it."
The wreck is incredible with many parts of the ship still discernible. As you swim up past it you can make out the structure of it and the bow is still very much intact! Sea life is amazing with some of the biggest fish I’ve ever seen. A 2m Queensland Grouper is an example. Also saw sea snakes, turtles and many other varieties of fish. The ship itself has become a coral reef with a huge amount of live coral coating it. Easily one of the most impressive dive sights I’ve been on, even if it did come with a bought of sea sickness!
"Top 3 in the world!"
I could find more marine life here than in tens of other dives around the world.
