Introducing Fiji

Fiji, located in the Melanesia region and east of Australia, is considered by many to be the cream of the crop when it comes to dive adventures. Shark dives, reef dives, and several others are abundant in the region, making it an absolute paradise for people who love to be under the surface.

Health and Safety

Fiji is a fairly healthy place, but beware of mosquito related diseases. As for safety, economic disparity is high and, as such, you should mind your belongings. Also keep in mind to use extra sunscreen, as you’ll be in a location with very little cloud cover.

Be Aware

Due to religious factors, many shops are closed on Sunday. Stock up. Many places only take cash, and vendors know it. If traveling the markets don’t follow anyone who uses the words “best bargain,” go for less aggressive stalls and counters.

Costs

Resorts, as always, will run high, but local lodging and food are mid-range for most travelers. A dive will average anywhere from $75-300USD.
