The Open Water Course is the first autonomous certification level.
To become an Open Water Diver, you must be a good swimmer (able to do a 200 meters surface continuous swim) and comfortable in the water.
The Open Water Course takes 3 days and includes:
- Theoretical course
- Practical course (pools sessions and practical sessions in confined water)
- 4 Open Water Dives (2 dives per day)
- Theoretical exam
After having successfully achieved the practical course and final exam, you will get your Open Water Certification. You will be recognized worldwide as an autonomous diver (18 meters maximum)! The amazing underwater world will be open for you and you will get the key to enjoy it with a buddy, certified diver like you.
Schedule of the Open Water Course in 3 days :
In the scoop of an Open Water Course we do the practical course (pool sessions) and the theoretical course the first day, and then the next days we do 2 dives per day + theoretical exam the last day.
We are based in Sanur so we usually do the pool and class here in Sanur and then day 2 in Tulamben and day 3 in PadangBai (or inversely) so our students can experience both shore diving (in Tulamben) and boat diving (in Padang Bai). But it is also possible to do the day 2 and 3 in Tulamben with one overnight there (to minimize the time spend in the car to reach the dive destination).
If you choose to spend the night in Tulamben, you can book by yourself a hotel in Tulamben or we can book a room for you there (60$ for standard room with air-con and hot water in a resort with pool, budget or superior options on request).
Tulamben is shore diving, we dive there directly from the beach, on the beautiful Coral Garden and the famous Liberty Wreck dive's site (a must-do in Bali!). Tulamben is 2 hours drive from Sanur but it's a beautiful road, with Ocean View almost all the way, Ricefields and Volcano at the end. The water is usually calm, and the sand is black (volcanic). The Liberty Wreck is a ship of 120 meters long covered of life, and one of the most reputed dive site in Bali.

Padang Bai is located at 45 minutes from Sanur. We dive in Padang Bai from a jukung, a small fisherman boat in wood, on the beautiful Blue Lagoon (one of the bluest water of Bali) and the Jepun (little wreck). The sea life there is just amazing.
We also can do the course in 2 days if you do the e-learning with SSI prior to your arrival : in this case we do pool and theoretical the first day + 2 dives in Tulamben, and two dives the second day + theoretical exam in Padang Bai.

USS Liberty Wreck

The Liberty Wreck is indeed an amazing dive site and very convenient for all level of divers.
We dive in, through and around this 120 meters long wreck covered of life, discovering new landscape each time we change direction. It's a great experience ;)
