Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you! At Dive Center Scuba Do we offer this program just off the beach, where our qualified instructors will teach you basic safety guidelines, show you how to properly set-up your dive gear and after some underwater exercises and getting used to breathing underwater, will show you around the house reef during your first dive ever! While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. After this dive, you’ll receive a certificate that is valid for two weeks. This time will enable you to make your introduction dive count as the first lesson for your Open Water course, if you decide to continue with an Open Water course or go on another accompanied dive (repeat discover scuba diver).

PADI Bubblemaker is a chance for kids to blow bubbles by scuba diving. Children who are at least 8 years old can use scuba gear to breathe underwater and swim around in the shallow water (less than 2 meters) of Jan Thiel wearing dive gear. They will get to know the underwater world through several fun games. PADI Bubblemaker is a fun and unforgettable experience for the kids and they are also going to get colorful course material, which includes a logbook, a toy and an official certificate! Kids must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary. Parental approval is required.

The PADI Seal Team is especially designed for young scuba divers, looking for action-packed fun. The course is packed with exciting play activities (AquaMissions), which gives kids an even better understanding of diving and the underwater world. After a few short theory lessons, kids will get the chance to make new discoveries, learn new skills and experience wonderful adventures underwater, such as wreck diving, navigation, buoyancy, environmental awareness and more. To become a PADI Seal Team member, the young scuba divers will have to complete the first five of a total of fifteen AquaMissions, which covers basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session takes about an hour. Complete these AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required. To become a PADI Master Seal Team member, kids can go on to complete the other ten AquaMissions as well. These include adventures like creature identification, search and recovery diving, and skin diving. Complete all of these and you’ll become a PADI Master Seal Team Member – joining an elite group of young scuba divers.

The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification, if that’s your ultimate goal. To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver course (or Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through the Discover Scuba Diving program.

During the PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll gain a solid knowledge for the basic principles of scuba diving. You will learn basic scuba skills, how to use basic scuba gear, including a dive computer and other dive accessories, and how to dive with a dive buddy. Within 4 days you will be trained in theory and practical experience how to be a responsible open water diver. During the course, you’ll make 8 dives at local dive sites with your dive instructor. You will start the first two days by watching videos and preparing by reading the PADI Open Water book prior to the first lessons on your own. Next, you will discuss what you’ve learned with your dive instructor, who will also go over special aspects and circumstances. Then you will do some practical diving exercises in the water. After each training session, you will make a real dive, so you can enjoy the beauty of the reef, the colorful fish and the nice feeling of floating around. In the afternoon there’s another theory lesson, followed by more practical exercises and the second dive of the day. The final two days are all about diving. The theoretical part, and the theory exam, have been completed and it is now time to improve your skills and practice actual diving. On the last day, we’ll pack up the dive gear and head to one of our off-site dive spots for the final 2 dives. At the successful completion of the theory exam and these two dives, you will become a certified PADI Open Water Diver, which means that you can go diving without a dive instructor, but always with a buddy. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide.

In the afternoon at 2 pm there’s another theory lesson, followed by more practical exercises and the second dive of the day. The final two days are all about diving. The theoretical part – including the theory exam – has been completed and it’s now time to improve your skills and practice the actual diving. On the last day we’ll pack up the dive gear and head to one of our local reefs for the final 2 dives. A magnificent underwater world is waiting to be discovered. At the successful completion of the theory exam and these two last dives, you will become a certified PADI Open Water diver, which means that you can go diving with a buddy anywhere.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course will help you gain more experience, build your scuba skills and increase your confidence underwater. You do five different dives all under the expert guidance of your dive instructor. The fun part is that you get to choose the specialties yourself! At Dive Center Scuba Do we offer: wreck diving, night diving, drift diving, sidemount diving, enriched air diving (Nitrox), digital underwater photography, peak performance buoyancy, search and recovery, diver propulsion vehicle, underwater naturalist and more. With professional guidance from your dive instructor, you will be able to add new and special experiences to your logbook, no matter which of the above specialties you choose. Through self-study from the course book, you will learn the theory for the specialties that you select. Before the dives, you will attend theory classes with your dive instructor and go over the course questions.

The PADI Rescue Diver course is a very demanding course to take but at the same time the most rewarding course. During the course, you learn how to spot potential problems and quickly deal with them before they become big issues. You’ll be ready to rescue someone in an emergency, but you’ll also have the skills and awareness to prevent problems. In the end, you’ve learned to be a better buddy, to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of other divers. PADI (Junior) Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive may enroll in a Rescue Diver course. You also need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course. The PADI Rescue Diver course covers: Self-rescue and diver stress, Emergency management and equipment, Panicked diver response, In-water rescue breathing protocols, Egress (exits) and Dive accident scenarios. Accidents happen when you least expect and being able to give CPR and First Aid are always good skills to learn and develop for anyone involved in adventure sports. Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills like reanimation, how to act in case of shock, bandaging wounds, diagnosing symptoms, allergic reactions, poisoning and hypothermia. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning right away.

Love scuba diving? Want to share it with others on a whole new level? Then the PADI Divemaster course is for you! As a Divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but also experience the joy of seeing others have as much fun diving as you do. This professional certificate is your first step towards becoming a scuba dive instructor. After completing the course, you’ll be able to organize dive trips independently and also accompany and support other PADI dive instructors with their students. The PADI Divemaster course pays much closer attention to all aspects of diving. As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. The course is aimed at perfecting your skills and applying them to guiding other divers and sensing what they need. In addition, you will develop your organizational skills for planning dive trips, and you’ll also learn to take over other tasks at a diving school. Throughout the course, the aspiring Divemaster performs as an assistant to the dive instructor during dive courses and on instructional dives. This real-life, hands-on practical experience teaches you how to guide dives and what to pay particular attention to. Successfully completing the PADI Divemaster course means taking your first step in the direction of a professional career in the diving industry. You can now move on to the PADI Assistant Instructor course, followed by PADI Open Water Instructor. PADI Rescue Divers who are at least 18 years old may enroll in the PADI Dive master course. You also need to have: - Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) within the past 24 months - A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months. - At least 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 dives to earn certification. Note that qualifying certifications from other diver training organization may apply.

Little time, lots to dive? Then the 2-tank dive package is the way to go. Upon arrival at Dive Center Scuba Do, your guide for the day will welcome you and after a short introduction and filling out the waivers, gather all the required gear for the dives ahead. Our dive bus will take us to the first nearby located dive spot, either Caracas Bay, Directors Bay or Tugboat. After this first dive, you’ll have about an hour and a half surface interval time to off-gas and rehydrate. The second dive will be right after, at one of the other nearby located sites. After the second dive, your guide will drive you back to the dive center, at Jan Thiel Beach.

Every week Dive Center Scuba Do offers guided dives around the island. You can hop on the bus and join our guide for off-site dive adventures. Before leaving the dive center, your guide for the day will welcome you and after a short introduction and filling out the waivers, gather all the required gear for the dives ahead. After a great dive, your guide will drive you back to the dive center, at Jan Thiel Beach. If you have enjoyed the morning off-site dive, you are always welcome to join the afternoon guided dive as well.

During a full day dive you can choose to either go to Banda Abou (West Point or Cas Abou) or to Banda Ariba. During the full dive day to Banda Abou we’ll be gone all day, enjoying two dives at two different dive spots. During the Banda Ariba dives, you’ll be back at the dive center in between dives.
