The Tiburón Ballena Biosphere Reserve was established in 2009, and is located on the northern coasts of Quintana Roo. This reserve is today one of the most interesting tourist attractions in the state.
The extension of the reserve is approximately 146 thousand hectares of marine land and, as the name says, in which is the largest concentration of whale sharks in Mexico.
