The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) encourages people to remove Lionfish from Florida waters to help limit negative impacts to native marine life and ecosystems. They can be speared, caught in hand-held nets or caught on hook and line and there is no recreational or commercial bag limit.
Ocean Divers would like to help divers and the ecology by taking hunters to out of the ordinary Lionfish Hot-spots and eliminating this threat.
Reminders
- Divers are required to bring their own pole spear or hand net and collection containment such as Zookeeper or catch bag. Puncture resistant gloves are highly recommended.
