The Glanmire, Scotland, United Kingdom

Dive 1093 Pleasure dive on the Glanmire with Jess, Rachael, David, Fi, Karen, Hugh, Martin and Paul on the Oceanic with Derek Anderson. A nice, civilised ropes off time of 1pm 😊. We arrived at Eyemouth a couple of hours early as usual and put our equipment on the dock next to where the Oceanic would moor then spent the next hour or so getting to know everyone (I already knew everyone obviously 😂🤣). When the Oceanic docked we waited for the previous set of divers to disembark before we loaded up our equipment. Once loaded we set off towards the wreck site. At the wreck site Derek advised that the tides weren’t running as expected and slack high hadn’t actually happened so we waited a while. As we waited the boat was rocking which caused a few people to feel a little bit sick ☹. Eventually we kitted up and sat and waited for the right tide time, however sat in our equipment on a sweltering hot day made even more people feel sick ☹. It was decided that we should go in anyway so the skipper positioned the boat upstream of the shot line and we entered the water. Once on the shot line it became obvious that the current was raging at the surface and we’d to hold onto the rope and pull ourselves down the shot line. The water was a dark green colour with very little visibility, that was until we reached the wreck where the current changed into a gentle drift and the visibility opened up to 10 – 15 meters. We had a bimble around the wreck, where there is lots to see, both wreck wise and sea life wise, Fi and Hugh even spotting an octopus on the wreck. Once we’d reached our airtime we returned to the shot line and ascended to safety stop level. Part way through the safety stop Karen became light and had to be held onto until we completed the stop but no great concern. Once on the boat we waited for the twinset twins 😂🤣 to surface, which they did under a DSMB some way from the wreck and shot line 😂🤣. Another relaxed pleasurable dive was had by all. Leauger Buss, Scotland, United Kingdom
August 9, 2020 | 17:04
Dive 1094 Second pleasure dive of the day trip to Eyemouth, this time on the reef Leager Bus. A lot of people were beginning to feel sick ☹ during the surface interval due to the roll of the boat and the previous experience while waiting for the tides to be right to dive the wreck. Everyone was keen to get in the water to relieve the sickness a little. Karen and myself buddied on the dive once everyone else had entered the water. It was a nice, relaxed dive with plenty of reef life to see though the visibility wasn’t as good as on the first dive, even so it wasn’t bad visibility. We pottered about for just under an hour spotting crabs, lobster, a few flat fish of some description, a shoal of pollock and various other sea life. The dive was very enjoyable though we both got a little cold at the end, it turns out that the bottom temperature on the reef was colder than the bottom temperature on the wreck for some reason. We were the last back on the boat and once on the boat we headed back to the port where we unloaded then headed off to the chippy for tea before setting off home. Apart from the sickness 😂🤣 another good day trip to Eyemouth enjoyed by all 😊... More
